SUSTAINABILITY & INCLUSIVITY

At MacGregor’s, caring for people, place and culture has always been at the heart of what we do. From the day we opened, we have made conscious choices to reuse, recycle and reduce wherever possible, always looking for new ways to tread gently on the planet while delivering genuine Highland hospitality.

Sustainability is an ongoing commitment, not a one-time action. Our dedicated Sustainability and Inclusivity Lead, Erin, sets aside time every week to review our practices, explore improvements and ensure that our venues continue to evolve in responsible and meaningful ways. From energy-efficient systems—such as our cellar heat-recovery setup, which uses warmth generated by our equipment to help heat the main bar—to thoughtful sourcing, waste reduction and operational improvements, we work continuously to make better choices every day.

Our commitment to community is just as important. Many of our suppliers are not only partners but friends, people and businesses we have grown alongside over the years. Supporting them is a conscious decision and one of the most meaningful commitments we can make—strengthening local enterprise, sustaining local skills and ensuring that the success of our venues contributes directly to the communities around us.

Everything we do is about promoting Scotland at its very best. We champion outstanding Scottish food, music and drink, and wherever possible we prioritise local suppliers over national ones. Many of the beers in our bar come from breweries within a very small radius, and the same local-first approach guides our food sourcing, purchasing decisions and day-to-day operations. Even the fabric of our spaces reflects this commitment, with features such as tables crafted from locally sourced timber produced just up the road.

Inclusivity is just as central to us as sustainability. At MacGregor’s, everyone is welcome. We believe true Highland hospitality means kindness, respect and belonging for every guest and every member of our team, regardless of who they are, what they do or where they come from. Inclusivity is not simply a statement for us—it is something we live, every shift, every day.

By combining sustainability, inclusivity, local sourcing and genuine Highland warmth, we aim to create spaces where people can gather, celebrate and feel at home, while caring responsibly for the communities and landscapes that inspire us.
